About me game...

Sorry for the giant gap! I'm trying really hard to find spare time to write but... I just don't have spare time at all! I really LOVE writing this blog though. Soooo... Today we are going to play a little game. I am going to list some things about my myself, and I want you to comment the same things about yourself.

1. My favorite show is The Fosters

2. My favorite colors are pink, Tiffany blue, and yellow

3. My favorite book is The Lying Game

4. My favorite subject is English

5. My favorite food is pasta

Boys

Boys. Boys are a constant struggle for us- so I thought I would share some tips that have worked for me (and people I know!).

1. If you want a boy to like you, don't chase him. Sometimes, guys are a little afraid to be chased. Now, this might now always be the case but in my experience it is.

2. Don't be afraid to be his friend!

3. Do not change who you are- if a guy doesn't like you for you, he's not worth your time

4. People really do change- for better and for worse. Some guys may turn nice... and others, not so much.

5. Don't be afraid to talk to him! He might be afraid to talk to you!

6. Be nice. Don't say things to seem "cool" because even if guys pretend to like cool girls on the surface, they really want a girl who they can enjoy themselves around!
7. Guys get nervous too! If you feel like you said something stupid, they probably didn't even notice! You are the only one who notices these things!

8. Every guy has a different type- just because one guy doesn't like brunettes with freckles, it doesn't mean that his friends don't like brunettes with freckles! (Just an example)

9. Don't get discouraged! If a guy turns you down or just generally makes you feel icky, don't give up on guys as a whole! Contrary to how you feel right now, there really are other fish in the sea!

10. Have I stressed this enough?... BE YOURSELF!

Definitions and Judging Books By Their Covers

Here is the definition of fashion as according to www.dictionary.com

fash·ion

[fash-uhn] Show IPA
noun
1.
a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing, etc.: the latest fashion in dresses.
2.
conventional usage in dress, manners, etc., especially of polite society, or conformity to it: the dictates of fashion; to be out of fashion.
3.
manner; way; mode: in a warlike fashion.
4.
the make or form of anything: He liked the fashion of the simple, sturdy furniture.
5.
a kind; sort: All fashions of people make up the world.

Here is the definition of self-expression as according to www.dictionary.com

self-ex·pres·sion

[self-ik-spresh-uhn, self-] Show IPA
noun
the expression or assertion of one's own personality, as in conversation, behavior, poetry, or painting.

In my opinion, the definitions should be the same. The way your express yourself (i.e. self expression) is part of fashion. To express yourself, some of you need fashion. I know that my clothes are a direct representation of who I am. However, I know that the way that you are on the inside sometimes contrasts with the way you are on the outside.

You could be the nicest person in the world, but some people might take one look at you and say "mean snob". You could be the purest person, and someone could take one look at you and say "hooch". Because so many people judge a book by its cover. Books could have the worst cover ever- and still be powerful and spread a good and inspiring message.

A book could have a cookie on the front, but be about a girl losing weight. A book could have a pencil on it and be about summer break. A book could have a picture of a guy on it but be told from the point of view of the girl. Even though some of them are directly related or at least very similar, they don't tell the whole story. They don't tell about what pushed this girl to lose weight, they don't tell about the horrific thing that happened at the end of the school year, they don't tell that this guy was cheating on his girlfriend.

See, that's why you can't judge a book by its cover- because the cover is exactly that, a cover. It is designed to show you a little sliver of the book. It is designed to show you the smallest piece of the book that you could imagine. But, for all we know, the cover might tell the whole story. See, that is why you have to take the time to read the book. Because you never know what you might be missing- looks can be deceiving.

I'm a slacker... But I will be baaaaaaaaaaack

I was just internally panicking about what a slacker I have been about posting-- but then I realized that I have posts scheduled up through today!!!! So you haven't missed me... Much anyway ;)

So in my free time (yeah, right.) I will upload posts!!!!! Buuuuut there will probably be a lapse in posts (insert dramatic, theatrical sobbing) but I will be back! No need to fear (ya know, if you were fearing.)

I have also been slacking on making videos... Urgh. But again, those will continue! Soooooooo this long thing was to say... I promise there will be more!!!!! Enjoy your summer! I may be back tomorrow but I also may be back mid-August. If I find time to sit down, I will write and schedule some.

Help?

So... what do you guys think about the video? I made it silent because I don't have a very good mic and it made my voice sound really annoying. I noticed that the second step didn't stay up long... Any ideas for how to fix that using Windows Live Movie Maker for the next video? I will try any of your suggestions! Thank you!

Shampoo

So I have found a new shampoo and conditioner set that I am in love with! It's by Paul Mitchell. It smells just like the spa.
