Blush

Blush. No, not the blush that happens when the cutest guy in school chooses the exact moment that you have a mouthful of food to try to talk to you (That's happened to someone else, right? Please tell me I'm not the only one). I'm talking about the blush that you purposely put on your cheeks.

I've never ever been a fan of cream blush, I feel like it's too cake-y. And it makes you look... like... um... well I can't exactly come up with an analogy for that one. But anyway, I thought that I would share my tips.

Everyone should wear blush differently. Most people say to make a Nike swoosh on your cheekbones. I say that that makes me look surprised all the time. But that's just me, it will look different on everyone. I usually just brush it (very lightly) across my cheekbones.

Different shades for different skin tones! And different shades for how you prefer to apply it. If you put a lot on, go with a light shade unless you want to look like you just got slapped across the face. I use a light peach-ish pink color. I only own two shades of blush. One is from the Marilyn Monroe Mac Cosmetics line and the other is a sparkly one made by Elf. Not my best choice... it's too dark for my skin and I look like I've been slapped. But if you only put on a little bit, you can go with a darker color if you want. I don't really like my blush to show, it's just to add a little color to my face so I don't look like a corpse. Somehow people don't find that attractive... I wonder why...

If your skin is darker, you should use a darker shade of blush, because a lighter one won't show up. If you have lighter skin you should use a lighter blush because too dark of a blush will make you look verrrrry scary.

And one last tip: If you put on too much blush, add a thin layer of foundation over the top. Not that I've ever done that. Ahem.
